There are many factors that go into determining rates for creating indexes,
mostly revolving around the type of material being indexed. For this reason,
it is preferable to have a sample of the text in order to determine a particular
rate. Factors that affect the indexing rate include:
Type of book (scholarly, technical, mass market, etc.)
Page size and format
Density of material (number of index entries per page)
Turnaround time (a timeline involving more than 40 pages per day may
require an additional fee.)
Our preferred billing method is a per-page charge. Depending on the type
of material, our rates are $3-7 per page.
If you have any questions about our rates, please send an email to ken@boltonindexing.com.
For a fast quote, please attach a sample of the text (10-20 pages is sufficient).
